    The city did a revaluation of all the properties within the city limits. Because of the competitive housing market, the process was done early.

    Right now, the value of residential properties is going up faster than commercial spaces. So the city has to balance it out.

    Historically, commercial properties make up 40% of the tax base. Now, they stand at 36%. So that difference is passed onto individual property owners, ensuring the value of a home on the market matches how much its being taxed.
